Click Here: 2017 Notice of Annual Election The Fairview Fire Deparment was honored to participate in a community trick or treat event held on Halloween on Manhattan Avenue in Greenburgh. We enjoyed handing out candy to our young residents in a safe area where cars were not a concern.
Today Chief Ed Rush (Hartsdale FD) and I, Chief Howard Reiss (Fairview FD), were invited to participate in a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) Fair at the RJ Bailey School. We had the opportunity to discuss with students in grades 4, 5, and 6 just how large a role S.T.E.A.M concepts are in the everyday for firefighters.
Due to the weather we regret that we have to postpone our Fire Prevention Open House scheduled for later this morning. We will advertise the newly scheduled date shortly. We will still be at each of the Greenburgh Public Schools as well as several of the nursery schools this week with our fire safety trailer. Congratulations to our newest Career Fairview Firefighter Ryan Prescott. He is headed to the Westchester Career Chief's Fire Academy on October 2nd for 4 months of Fire / Rescue Training.
I would like to thank the many agencies who stood shoulder to shoulder with the Fairview Fire Department as we paid our final respects to FF Robert Mentrasti on April 19, 2017. To the members of the Fairview Fire Department: Your dedication, sense of brotherhood, and tireless effort was key in honoring "Bubba" in a way that reflected his commitment to his family, our family, and to public service. We were honored to be asked by the Westchester Pan Hell Council to assist with their Children's Fitness Day at RJ Bailey School on April 22nd, 2017. Just a few quick photo's of the Fairview Firefighters grilling food for the participants. Congratulations to our newest Career Fairview Firefighters. They are headed to the Westchester Career Chief's Fire Academy on March 13th for 4 months of Fire / Rescue Training.
Thomas Goldstein Phillip Mendola Raymond Scaperrotta The Fairview Fire Department regrets having to cancel our Santa Candy Cane run in the Fire District scheduled for this weekend 12/17 & 12/18 due to rain and snow in the forecast.
