The Fairview Fire District is a 5.5 square mile area in the Town of Greenburgh, bounded by Valhalla in the north, the City of White Plains and the Metro North railroad yard in the east, the Hartsdale Fire District in the south, and the villages of Ardsley and Elmsford and the New York State Thruway in the west. It is the largest fire district in the Town of Greenburgh.
The Fire District is a political subdivision of the State of New York, independent from the Town of Greenburgh. It was formed in 1927. It is governed by a five-member board of fire commissioners: Chair, Vikki R. Simmons, Damon S. Yizar, John Malone, Emma Walthall - Moon, and one vacant Board position.
