Duke served our department with pride and dedication for many years. He will be missed for his kind nature and genuine caring for others in the community. As a senior Firefighter, “Badge 12” mentored members while at a fire scene and enjoyed cooking meals in the firehouse kitchen. Rest In Peace Duke. On Memorial Day in a joint ceremony with the Town of Greenburgh, the Greenburgh Police Dept, The Fairview, Hartsdale, and Greenville Fire Districts, and the Veterans Affairs Committee we honored those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Special thanks to U.S. Representative Mondaire Jones, State Senator Andrea Stewart Cousins, State Assembly Person Tom Abinanti, County Exec. George Latimer, County Legislator Mary Jane Shimsky, and Town Council Person Francis Sheehan for their inspiring speeches reminding us all the true meaning of “Memorial Day”. The “Home Fire Campaign” is making it possible for the Fairview Fire Department to offer our residents who are in need the opportunity to have 10-year battery-free smoke detectors installed in the appropriate areas of their home. The American Red Cross will provide the detectors, and your own Fairview Firefighters will complete the installation. The smoke detectors and installation are free in residential properties in the Fairview Fire District. ![]() |
