Join your Fairview Firefighters at our Annual Fire Prevention Open House. Practice crawling low in smoke in our safety trailer, take a tour of our fire trucks, learn fire safety at our puppet show, or practice using a real fire extinguisher. Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday 10/9/2021 from 11am to 3pm. It is with deep regret we announce the passing of Retired Firefighter Robert “Duke” Halpin. Duke served our department with pride and dedication for many years. He will be missed for his kind nature and genuine caring for others in the community. As a senior Firefighter, “Badge 12” mentored members while at a fire scene and enjoyed cooking meals in the firehouse kitchen. Rest In Peace Duke. On Memorial Day in a joint ceremony with the Town of Greenburgh, the Greenburgh Police Dept, The Fairview, Hartsdale, and Greenville Fire Districts, and the Veterans Affairs Committee we honored those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Special thanks to U.S. Representative Mondaire Jones, State Senator Andrea Stewart Cousins, State Assembly Person Tom Abinanti, County Exec. George Latimer, County Legislator Mary Jane Shimsky, and Town Council Person Francis Sheehan for their inspiring speeches reminding us all the true meaning of “Memorial Day”. The “Home Fire Campaign” is making it possible for the Fairview Fire Department to offer our residents who are in need the opportunity to have 10-year battery-free smoke detectors installed in the appropriate areas of their home. The American Red Cross will provide the detectors, and your own Fairview Firefighters will complete the installation. The smoke detectors and installation are free in residential properties in the Fairview Fire District. On March 22 at 1730 hours Car - 2122 and Engine 174 along with Greenburgh Police Medic Annicharico responded to a pregnant female in active labor. After assessing the patient it was determined that a birth was imminent. Fairview Firefighters along with GPD Paramedic Annicharico were able to successfully welcome a healthy baby boy into the world. The mother and child were both transported in stable condition to a local hospital. All members involved relied on their medical training and were able to assist with bringing a beautiful new baby into the world. Fairview Firefighters were invited to the Mohawk Country Day School where the students surprised them with dozens of handcrafted Valentines Day cards, It was such an amazing surprise! Congratulations to John Baker on receiving a promotion to the rank of Deputy Fire Chief and to Dan Lester for his promotion to the rank of Fire Captain. We are proud of their accomplishments on behalf of the Fairview Fire Districts and the community we serve. The Fairview Fire Department is honored to be helping Santa visit all the neighborhood children and deliver Candy Canes to both Adults and Children alike.
